CLEVELAND, Ohio — LeBron James drained a corner 3-pointer with 5:01 left in the second period against Philadelphia for his 1,000th triple in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform.
James, already the franchise leader in 3-pointers made with 999 entering Sunday’s game, is the first Cavalier to reach the 1,000 plateau.
James has nearly 200 more made 3s than the previous franchise leader, Mark Price (802).
Teammate Kyrie Irving is third on the franchise list with 583 entering Sunday’s action. Irving passed Daniel Gibson (578) last week.
In four seasons with the Miami Heat, James sank 365 shots from beyond the arc, giving him a career total of 1,365. He is a career 34 percent shooter from 3-point range.
