Three Tech Gifts You Should Avoid On Black Friday

What you’ll likely end up with is a bad user experience, complete with a laggy interface and a low-resolution screen that will just end up making your eyes tired.

Instead, go with name brands like Apple, Samsung or Amazon’s tablets. The 7-inch Amazon Fire tablet is available right now for $49.99 and you can expect it to go lower for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Apple’s iPad Mini 2 has been advertised as low as $199 starting on Thanksgiving.

•Televisions with not enough ports. Many of the “special buy” and “doorbuster” televisions offer a total of two HDMI ports. Many people have more than two devices they’ll want to connect to their new television. Avoid the inconvenience of unplugging and plugging in components. Pay the extra money and get a TV that’ll accommodate all of your devices.

That said, if you’re just hooking up a couple of things like a Roku and a soundbar, some of these are great buys. But, also, think about future-proofing.

•The newest cameras. You may not get a great deal on the newest Nikon 3400 DSLR. But, you’ll probably find some steals out there on the previous 3300 model or even the previous-to-that 3200.

Just check the features the older models offer and make sure it has what you’re looking for and isn’t missing anything you consider a necessity on the newest models.
